WOW!

It has been a long time!!!! Perhaps I have lost all of my fans???!!! I hope not! I have no good excuses at all whatsoever. As far as pictures from Argentina go, I posted all of the ones mentioned in the blog on facebook and all of you are my friends. So, I would recommend you go there for those. They are labeled. By now, you ahve probably lost interest.

So, what have I done since I arrived back in SLC? So many things as usual!!!
(1) Went to Breckenridge with bro, sis-in-law and the 'rents. Had a fabulous time! Biked, shopped, at good food, drank beer, played Risk, walked around, went to The Fantasticks (it was a great production considering it was in the middle of nowhere!!!), got to catch up with friends Gina and Casey . . . oh! and went WHITE RIVER RAFTING!!!! It was a blast!

(2) Got an Iphone: hours upon hours of entertainment I really didn't need. But, it is pretty cool!!!!

(3) Spent lots of time with the family and friend and my fabulous Nonni!!

(4) I am currently at a ten day course (rigorous - like 12 hours a day!!!) that teaches me how to teach contemporary commericial music (pop, rock, jazz, musical theatre, rap, alternative, blah, blah, blah) to singers. It is A LOT to take, but I am having a BLAST! I met these two girls on the taxi on the way over here and we have been inseparable. And picked up a few more friends along the way. It is funny because I can tell these are going to be friends for life and we haven't spent that much time together . . . but it's just this whole experience. We are in it together. We are living (and laughing hysterically) about living the dorm life; we are studying and taking take home exams together crammed in a dorm room with wine (actually the take home exams remind me of Aaron Anderson's exams when we all used to sit in my living room and eat golden oreos and study our butts off!). And of course, there are some really pretentious people here and we laugh about them just like we would if we were in high school.
Not kidding: We have a woman here who calls herself, "a dramatic soprano" and does not stop talking about how studied Italy and she knows everything, and she has performed with this famous person and this famous person, and . . . ugh!!! On one hand it is sooooooooo annoying. On another it is sad because she clearly needs attention so desperately, and on another hand, it is hilarious because she is the actual living breathing stereotype of a . . . well, a dramatic soprano!!!! There are around 50 of us in this class - all age ranges, all experience levels, all genres. I have made some amazing friends, met some great colleagues, gained some fabulous resources, and yet put up with more pretentiousness, fakeness and stupidity than anyone would think necessary in three days. Some how it is so much fun.

And as a final note (sorry I'm rambling; it's so late, and I am so overwhelmed with too many things to write), the voice is one of the most fascinating things in the world. I am so in love with it and trying to figure out how to teach people touse it. Isn't it so ironic that every human being has this amazing instrument on them, and yet we all struggle so much to play it?!

LOVE your passion for voice. Amazing how many people just assume they can't sing, and yet all they need is to learn about it and be taught. I feel the same way about dance!
