I´m in Argentina!

Well, I am finally here! And I am waiting for Sally who won´t be here for another hour. I am sitting in this hostel using the only computer in the building. Weird. They told me to use it. I wandered around a little and couldn´t find an internet cafe (I didn´t try hard). I did find a pizza place and had a pizza since that was the only food thing I could recognize on any menu. Yeah - gotta work on that . . . soon. No one here speaks English (which I was prepared for - but it is hard and really adds to culture shock!). The people seem friendly though (but I´m watching my back for potential muggers! Lol).

The flight over here was pleasant. On the ten hour flight, I had THREE seats to myself. And three pillows and three blankets. I made out like a bandit. So, I sprawled out (in as much as you can on three seats) and had myself a good little nap. I am still exhausted though. But, I am afraid if I go in my room and take a nap (like I really, really, really want to do), I will never be able to wake up when Sally comes (I know how Dave feels about just not wanting to go to bed when he knows he is going to have to wake up soon!).

There were these three ridiculously noisy Texans on the plane (the ten hour trip), two rows in front of me. I had ear plugs in my ears and I could STILL hear them laughing and carrying on. It was so irritating. Obnoxious Americans - I guess that´s were we get our rep. Anyway, I finally went and asked the flight attendants if they could be told to be quieter, and they laughed and said, ¨yeah, we need to tell them to quiet down because everyone in that area has been asking for ear plugs!¨ Hilarious. Anyway, the guys must have taken the glares as hints because by the time the attendants got down there they had decided to go to bed.

I think it is rude to make the poor people in the economy class walk through the first class on international flights. Because first class of course has full lay out beds and down comforters. And then we find our seats and it sucks twice as bad!

My final note is I brought five books with me (thinking about 16 hour plane rides). So far, I´ve read three chapters of one of them! Lol!! Overkill! All right - only 50 minutes ´til Sally gets here!

How exciting for you! What prompted this trip and how long are you there for?
