So, now things are on a roll!!! Today was crazy busy. I got a panic about three hours before I had to teach when I realized I did not have my lesson plans completely prepared. Luckily within ten minutes this was remedied. Just funny to be thinking on those terms again - it's been so long!
In bad news, my next door neighbor, Joe, who is sort of like an extra grandfather to me, is in the hospital. His poor wife has been calling me for days, and did not know to put the area code in front of my number. So, she finally left a message for me at my office and I got it this morning. Bad news - he has bone cancer. And he has already been legally dead in his lifetime from his heart stopping. So, he has lots of heart problems and has had a kidney transplant. So, a bone marrow transplant is not even a thought. We'll find out soon how much it has metastasized. It's pretty sad though. They are only in their 60s!
My auditions for Little Shop of Horrors were yesterday. They went really well (though they took 8 hours!). I feel so comfortable with the people I am working with and I think we are a great team. I also feel excellent about my cast. So, things are looking up for the show!
I got my first full review from the dean yesterday. And it was stellar and he recommended me for reappointment next year. So, that is excellent.
And tomorrow, I am getting a huge computer monitor to hook up to my laptop in my office so I have more screen space. I feel like half my work time is spent thumbing through the 30 windows and documents I have open on my screen. So, this should fix that. Thank heavens for professional development. I am super, super excited for that to get here!
