Wow - I can't even remember the last time I got a snow day off school :-) I didn't believe it would ever happen. I listened to the weather people with no faith, and planned to go to school today. I got up to pee in the middle of the night and looked out the window and my car barely had snow on it. I was unimpressed. When I woke, my car still had barely any snow on it, but that's because of the lovely New England wind. We had still gotten around 6-8 inches of snow (which is a lot for here!), I had a text message on my phone from the school (I love how RWU text messages, calls and e-mails anytime there are emergencies, weather, etc. It was installed after the V-Tech shooting) saying no school. Thank goodness because I had a horrible headache for no reason. So, I took some aspirin and went back to bed. Got up at 11:30am, went outside and ... SHOVELED. yuck! But, that's okay. If I only have to shovel a couple of times a year, I don't mind it :-)
Then I went inside and practiced for the singing competition I am in in three weeks. It is classical. I am singing a song called "Quando Men Vo" from La Boehme, a German art song by Brahms called "Wie Melodien" and an English song called "Little Elegy." I am not a huge fan of singing classical, but I will say it kicks your voice into shape big time. I can feel my voice getting stronger and stronger everyday.
Then, I went to the chiropractor (I think the reason for my headache this morning). Came home made an amazing sausage and tortillini soup, spoke with my lovely Nonni and now I am drawing. I haven't gotten to practice my drawing since January. But, it was nice to have a little time tonight. Since I still have a couple hours of my snow day left, I think I am going to draw a little more and then start the book The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It is a young adult book, but an international best seller that I have heard a lot about. So, I look forward to reading it.
While I could wish and hope with all my might for another snow day tomorrow, I know that sadly, it is not going to happen. And so, I am thankful for today and on we go!

Yay for snow! Sounds like you got a great day out of it. I am so excited you are in a competition! I totally want to come see you :(. Guess what, I took a beginning tap class tonight! THis is the year of me feeling out of my comfort zone! It was fun though.
Gina, have you never tapped before??
Lucky you! I would love an official day off... just have to keep waiting 'til spring break!
